Finding a job is all about looking through newspapers and classified websites right? Set up alerts, look every couple of days, send off some emails. hope for a response.
Well that may have worked for you in the past but in reality it is estimated that only a third of jobs are actually advertised. So how do you find out about these available jobs?
Networking! Your family, friends and former colleagues are your best source of information and recommendations to a new job or career.
ConnectCV now allows you to connect to your friends, family and colleagues right in main application. Simply go to “Contacts” in your dashboard
Connect with other ConnectCV members
- Simply start typing a fellow ConnectCV members name and then select on the name
- Their resume will open up
- Select “Send invitation to connect” button in the top right hand corner and an invitation will be sent to your contact
Connect with friends and contacts
- Not all of your friends and colleagues will already be members of ConnectCV
- What we have allowed you to do is to contact your existing friends and colleagues using your existing contact lists in your chosen email system.
- Select Import your contacts button
- Enter in your email details – username and password (Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Gmail)
- All of your contacts will be pulled into the application and displayed on screen
- Either select All or individual email addresses
- Select “Send invitation” – you can preview the email invitation before hand if you wish
- All of the selected contacts will be sent an invitation to connect with you via ConnectCV
Staying connected
- Your Connected contacts
This is lists out all of the people that you are connected too. Once you are connected you now have a number of options:- Send message – sends a contact a direct message within ConnectCV
- Refer to employer – if you know of an employer that would be perfect for one of your contacts why not send their resume to the employer.
- Your invited contacts
Here you can keep track of all of the people you have sent connection messages to via ConnectCV- You can send them a direct message to follow up from within the interface
