How it works
1. Student Report
You are already familiar with MyCareerMatch and it’s the same process. Students are given a school code, go online and complete their survey. Within minutes they receive a 16 page MyResume report by email that gives them personal content about themselves to add to their resume; a professionally written resume template all ready to go; essential resume writing tips and examples including how to read a job ad and how to write a cover letter that gets them an interview. 2. eBook Resource
Included in their email is a link for students to download their own 34 page “Rock your Resume eBook … a Student Guide to Writing the Perfect Resume”. Inside the eBook students discover the trade secrets of professional resume writers and receive the very latest in resume writing techniques. It includes action words; resume headings; how to impress employers with their employability skills; how to target their resume with key words; how to build a career brand; tips for nailing the interview; a career planner; a resume checklist and marketing strategies for getting their dream job. There’s a section on social media, Google and Facebook.
The eBook is a unique and valuable resource that you can also use to build class career lessons and for one-on-one counselling.
3. Online Resume Builder
Students receive a link to MyResume Builder. MyResume Builder is an online resume and cover letter writer created especially for students in partnership with ConnectCV. Students login and create an account. Doing this transfers their key personal content from their MyResume report automatically across to MyResume Builder. The Builder allows students total control of their account and fully protects their privacy. Students are guided through each resume heading with tips and examples and total freedom of presentation. They can create multiple resumes and choose the format to publish either as a Word, PDF or online to a private secure URL.
To manage and monitor your students’ resumes, we’ve provided access for Careers Advisers to view and comment on a student’s resume. Using a master school login you can login to all your students’ resumes and leave comments for students. This is a useful feature enabling you to monitor student progress and offer practical suggestions and help.
