TEAMWORK: In my course I worked on different group modules, where I had to work closely with other group members to analyse and design. My special role in the group was organising meeting time, booking rooms for meeting and keeping record and sending meeting minutes. Moreover, as a secretary of the Bangladesh society of the Union I work with other committee members to organise and promote Bangladeshi events in to Union. Besides these most of my jobs and volunteering task required to work as part of a team. For example I volunteered into Oxfam charity shop. Where my key role was dealing with customers in friendly manner, also to
organize and selling stuff and arranging training for new volunteers.
COMPUTING: During my degree and relevant work experience I have acquired a whole range of IT skills, many self-taught. For instance in my course I have learnt computer aided design. My present bank of skills include good working knowledge of Microsoft office, Photoshop,
Ansys, Solid Works, Auto CAD, different video editing software and also excellent
internet browsing skills.
COMMUNICATION: Communication is one of the key skills that I have developed though my course, job and voluntary experience. For example, during my role of student representative on engineering faculty forum I had to talk with wide backgrounds students to get their opinion to raise issue on staff student committee meeting. Moreover, as a member of the international student committee I have got opportunity to work with different nationalities student and that sharpen my ability to communicate effectively with any nationality. Besides these, I gave many presentations in my course and as an affiliate member of
IMechE I have got opportunity to take part engineering presentation competition to enhance presentation skills.
PROBLEM SOLVING: Currently studying highly technical degree which incorporates analytical, critical thinking, numerical and problem solving skills. I have developed these skills over year one and two of my degree and now applying in my final year project titled-Natural fibre composites for sustainable future. | Hobbies / Interests | Through my University years, I have portrayed myself as a vibrant and passionate person by participating into wide range of extracurricular activities.As an International student committee member, I have actively taken part in the organisation of International events at the Sheffield Students Union like International cultural evening and International food festival. Moreover, I am involved with the activities of the Bangladesh society of the Union and also with the Engineers without Borders, Sheffield Branch. I also take part in fundraising for different charities like Sheffield Children's Hospital.I have been a part of the salsa dance society and regularly take part on different social dancing events.
