- Undertook “Biodiesel Synthesis Technology” project; a national high technology research and development program of China carried out by the College of Life Science and Technology at Beijing University of Chemical Technology with financing from China Petrochemical Corporation and National Natural Science Foundation of China. Subject areas included:
i) Studies on immobilised lipase supports and immobilized lipase reactors.
ii) Optimization of reaction conditions of lipase-catalysed production of biodiesel.
iii) Optimization of process of biodiesel production by enzymatic esterification.
iv) Establishment of biodiesel trial production line.
v) Optimization of biodiesel separation and refining technology.
- Designed optimal and effective approach to increase the productivity of biodiesel fuel and prolong the life of immobilised lipase.
- Designed optimal reactor to produce biodiesel fuel effectively.
- Investigated the best method to purify biodiesel to improve its efficiency (thesis subject with Distinction).
